40,000 rounds @ .27 per round = $10,800 and an obviously single guy!

Ya, same here. If you have any extra cases, I'm willing to buy them from you when you get the shipment.

You guys are a few hours too far and a few weeks too late unfortunately (otherwise, I would have been all for it).

One thing that many don't realize is that when you buy in bulk quantity (say, 10 cases or more), you can often negotiate your own shipping with the storefront, often saving you from obscene shipping costs. This doesn't apply to Brownells obviously, but for many other shops, it does.

yeah that is what i thought. people are so paranoid that the president is going to ban ammo. well he hasn't and a seriously doubt he alone ever could. so it's just stupid that people are thinking that after the election we won't be able to buy ammo.

yes i know that Obama is antigun but this panic buying is just stupid.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

4 years ago all over again, except i think this year its happened earlier.

Yes a few months ago a case of 1k of PMC was 289$ now its 350 if you can find it in stock.

I lucked out 4 years ago bought plenty of reloading stuff before the rush. Plenty of 556 bullets, powder, primers. plenty of loaded ammo and left over brass to reload. Now waiting on my new dillon xl650

Just extrapolate how much you're going to shoot over your lifetime. History generally says it's more cost efficient to get in sooner than later for this sort of stuff. Plus, whatever excess I end up with, I can trade it for more cool stuff. Or at least that's how I justified it to myself...

I was talking to a gun shop owner in LV last weekend. The US government placed multi year orders for ammunition to take ammo off the shelves from citizens. The US government takes priority for shipments and product that was already palleted and ready for shipment to private shops was reallocated to government orders.

How else can you explain the order of 400 million rounds of hollow point handgun ammunition that can never be used in a war zone? What makes matters worse, the hollow point ammo can only be used against our own citizens or "foreign invaders" on US soil as it would be against the Geneva Convention to use it for military purposes.

Here we are in the middle of a massive budget deficet with NO federal budget for 3 years and the government spends OUR money to keep ammo out of the hands of law abiding citizens prior to the election.

I suggest that we speak to our congressmen and senators to throw out Clintons executive order making it illegal to sell surplus military ammo to civillians. They can present it as a deficet reduction bill as moneys paid for the surplus ammo could be applied to lower the deficet. And we could use our "paid for ammo" instead of having it destroyed.

                        pretty much sums it up.

I recently bought 2k rds of 45 at 317$ a case shipped. Rarely will you find a deal like that.

limited supply, crazy demand, and inflation turning dollars into toliet paper-- what's the surprise?

Still seems as gun shows you can find 1000 round brass ammo in the 290-320 range. Personally I'm conserving ammo this year cause the prices. With the election year it is going to rise.
