      The RRA Lowers marked LAR-15 are OLL's and are legal for sale in CA.

        My first AR as a civilian (prior Marine) was a Smith & Wesson MP15 Sportster. It ran a little over $600, but they give Military and LEO $100 rebates. The M&P was really nice, and the two differences was it didnt have a dust cover or forward assist. Other than that, and you wont really notice, it was a very nice quality AR, especially at that price.
        I have heard great things about DD, RRA, BCM, Stag Arms, Spikes...and the list goes on. You see what I own now (see sig) but you really have a pool of great companies producing ARs.
