I know it's 8 grand, but I really want one before I die. If it wasn't for my lovely state, the 50 would definitely be the way to go (can you say "surplus ammo" ).

This gun is supposed to come with a 10rd non-detachable mag. Does anybody know if it's bullet-buttoned?
aye btw man i see ur in san fran! if u end up gettn one let me know! ill buy some rounds for the both of us if u let me shoot it!

I just picked up a single shot Barrett in .416 and used warne tactical rings with a triji tr23-2g 5-20x50, and I must say that the .416 round is amazing.. Cleared out the tables next to me at burro..Haha

It shouldn't be surprising - it's a necked-down and trimmed .50BMG, so it requires the same large platform and gives you the same big blast.

That's why the Kali .50 ban is a perfect example of the Law of Unintended Consequences. The Antis waxed hysterical at the prospect of this (allegendly) super-accurate round reaching out and touching someone at distances >0.5 mile. As a result, the .416 Barrett was developed to comply with the ban, and it is much more accurate than the same rifle chambered for .50 BMG with little given up in the way of terminal ballistics.

Not necessarily more accurate, but I see your point. If anything, like the AW ban, it's an example of short-sightedness when it comes to legal restrictions and specifically what happens when legislatures write laws about which they are ill informed. In Europe there are some countries that ban big-bore rifles, but instead of banning specific cartridges like .50BMG, leaving open a wide selection of similar cartridges, they instead limit them to cartridges that do not exceed a certain level of muzzle energy.

I have friends who do. Some of them shoot better than I can shoot my BMGs. What do you want to know about the DTC variants?

If you're in the LA area, shoot me a PM. Maybe we can meet up at Angeles and I'll bring a couple real 50s just to keep people guessing.

Cool, I better start thinking about loading some ammo then.

sure.... a .416barrett is 'normally' loaded with a match grade turned solid bullet that will out shoot any old military surplus m33 load.

If you shoot the .50 with decent match grade bullets too, then they're pretty close in performance with the 50 having a LOT more terminal energy and a wider selection of bullets overall.

Why is it you think a shooter cannot hit with a 416 unless he has a computerized scope? Shooters have been hitting targets for a long time without computerized scopes
