Heh heh heh heh.... WE AIN'T leaving Iraq bros, we're just changing the size of our footprint and limiting the exposure....
Worried about ammo prices going up?! Well you' ain't gonna believe what will happen to oil prices if Iran influence takes it to Bassra... or building the 'bomb'
Naah, all that ammo is gonna stay where it is at boys and gals .... in the sand box floating on an ocean of oil...

Seriously, I doubt the price will come down and that glut will be more available to all of us. Good 'ole USA will get involved in the next skirmish so it's keeping its own surplus. They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

The term "surplus" means not used. Anything that feeds a NATO or other allied nations small arms in ongoing conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq are going to be in high demand for awhile. Don't expect there to be a lot of "surplus" until after hostilities cease and that could take quite awhile. When they do cease, most of the 7.62x51 mm is going to be for MGs and may well be linked.
Most of the milsurp I've seen in the last few years dates between the 1950s and the 1990s. I think in general "surplus" tends to be 20+ years old and older and is only liquidated to make room for new ammo.
Two wars going on 10+ year duration make use of a lot of what might have been "surplus" in a few years from now. I doubt we'll see a lot of unused ammo coming out of this campaign, it will end up transferred to allies in the region long before it comes back to us.

Don't forget about AB809 passing. I bet rifle prices may spike if alot of people flock to buy rifles befor they need to be treated like handguns and get registered starting Jan 1 2014. Seems like everythings getting worse for gun owners in CA
I bet current prices right now are going to be the lowest it will ever be."If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." - Thomas JeffersonComment

I haven't bought ammo in a couple months and just saw a huge drop in the price of M855, like $0.10 a round. Reason?Comment
