UPDATE: The FCG is reliable, but the feel is not what I want and mag changes are very slow.

I don't have a problem with the SCAR in .308, but it won't perform better than the enhanced M14s that I already own.

If I didn't have what I have, I would consider buying variants of the .308 SCAR.

Now let me add, that this was with a aimpoint m4 with a 2.5x magnifier, not exactly the best optics set up to do it. Getting that dot to sit in exactly the same place is no easy task, esp considering I was really taking my time between shots and doing my absolute best (at least it felt like I was!)

I should also add, that Im a crap shot with no formal instruction on the matter, and Im probably about two ticks above legally blind. So considering all those factors, Im sure it could come down even more.

Short of the long of it is that it is very impressive considering it really isnt intended to for that kind of use.

My semi-long term goal (maybe by the end of the year time and cash willing) is to get into reloading and put at least a 4x optic on it.

Of course my absolute long term "dream" would be to get a spare barrel assembly, chop it down a bit and perma pin the AAC to it for more a CQB set up.
Dont have the 17S, but do have the 16S, it's funny, with such a thin barrel, my 16S was the only piston design rifle to acheive half MOA compared with LWRC M6A3, POF, etc..., the stock is actually very functional and comfortable. Gun was mated to a NF 5.5-22 NP-R2 NXS/LT-104 in solid rest. I bet the 17S would be in the same accuracy category as the LMT MWS as it incorporate the same design

The look of a bullpup M14 takes some getting used to and I do think the SAGE EBR is a better looking package.

FN needs a PRS style stock. I like it though. Could sway me from getting a 17S to this one next year.
