If it really is in that price range I'd like to see what your really getting for that extra 3.5-5 grand. I've heard the 17 gets 3/4 MOA all day with match ammo what do you think Plink you have one is that true. At the low end of that price spectrum you could get a 17 a Geissele trigger, PWS rail, and a S&B scope and be GTG minus 4 extra inches of barrel and the profile.

Ive gotten groups that were just under moa with match ammo. Just barely,

      BUT

Now let me add, that this was with a aimpoint m4 with a 2.5x magnifier, not exactly the best optics set up to do it. Getting that dot to sit in exactly the same place is no easy task, esp considering I was really taking my time between shots and doing my absolute best (at least it felt like I was!)

I should also add, that Im a crap shot with no formal instruction on the matter, and Im probably about two ticks above legally blind. So considering all those factors, Im sure it could come down even more.

Short of the long of it is that it is very impressive considering it really isnt intended to for that kind of use.

My semi-long term goal (maybe by the end of the year time and cash willing) is to get into reloading and put at least a 4x optic on it.

Of course my absolute long term "dream" would be to get a spare barrel assembly, chop it down a bit and perma pin the AAC to it for more a CQB set up.

UPDATE: The novelty of the Rogue bullpup conversion wore off pretty fast and I sold it.

The 17 doesn't make me want to replace any of my MK14s, but I wouldn't mind owning one.

Weight and accuracy are about the same and my 28+1/4" OAL is much more compact.

your FCG is not as reliable, and has a heavier trigger pull and mag changes take longer.

Of course, we have mag locks here so I guess you still win

Does this use standard Fal mags?

                    no (wish they did)

the SCAR 17 mag is def based on the FAL magazine, and is very similar but they are not interchangeable. Though some have modified FAL mags to work with the SCAR, I understand the conversions are not 100% reliable

                      Somehow that doesn't surprise me.

I'd rather have a SCAR PDW.

Other end of the spectrum, yes, but still awesome.
