I personally like it as it's introducing new people into our hobby. You always the the hipster enthusiast that get upset that a television show is letting people in on their "secret."

They make money off of "tacticool" morons who enjoy paying out the butt for a name, sort of like people who spend thousands on HK brand weaponry when they could get an AR or a Glock that does the same stuff but with a cheaper price tag just because they like the look of the weapon. Anyone who supports a capitalistic society should be happy for RJF. I for one support taking morons money.

Now if they could actually build a recoil powered minigun like the Russians attempted to do, I would be alot happier.

They did use a Saiga 308 as a base gun. I haven't done a "precision" AK but I did chop one down and welded a claymore brake to the muzzle. Dude said it turned everyones heads when he lit that thing off. And that was a handy, lightweight, 308 carbine that I would carry into battle anywhere.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

You guys are way to critical about them. Its just a TV show. The REAL innovators and gunsmiths are too busy making guns to be on TV.

And if you guys haven't realized it yet all of their "Customers" are paid actors. I'm sure Discovery CH pays them to build these guns that will open up a whole new market.

                  Long-time lurker, first-time poster.

I was a fan of the show just because it's fun to watch things go boom, and I know 90% of the stuff is scripted garbage for added drama and "entertainment". BUT now that I've read all of you stating the things I was previously thinking, it's ruined for me.

                  You all suck.

Side note, H&K's may be a little overpriced compared to a Glock (I own and love both), but my H&K is shinier than your Glock ... so there!

That's what I was thinking. Instead of "building" the 1000 yard AK they should of just tweaked a PSL a little bit and they would've gotten the same if not better results.

I was hoping it was an actual 7.62x39.

@ colt45 dont take it personal. Just how an idiot will bash an AK's accuracy is how i'll bash an ar's reliability lol. In reality an AR is much more reliable than given credit for. And.an AK is more accurate than given credit for.
My bulgarian ak74 shoots 2 1/2in groups at 200 yards w iron sights.

And again we've got an apologist agreeing that it's OK the TV show is full of lies and BS.

Yet every time I ask "Why is it ok for a TV show to be BS?" the only response I ever get is "it's entertainment" as if the truth about anything can't be entertaining.

Of course if there were a show that did nothing but spew anti-2a nonsense for 45 minutes with brady bunch commercial breaks, this forum would slam it based on the BS, regardless of whether or not some people found it entertaining.

If you're willing to accept BS, all you're going to get is BS. It's especially stupid considering that the history channel, discovery channel, science channel etc. used to be the reasonably accurate and someone educational channels.
