How far can I shoot this thing

Hahaha that would be tight.. Seeing some guy calculate the trajectory and shoot one like a 60mm or something and hit a target at lik 5 miles with a 308

whenever someone asks me "how far can i shoot this?" my general response is "i don't know? how far can you shoot it?"

If you haven't bought the Howa yet then I highly recommend saving up for a Remington 700. I have the 700P and I can hit targets at 600 yards all day with match ammo.

Yeah, my buddy just got the sps tactical and it was what I wanted originally. I just found this Howa for a really good price and I'm trying to justify buying it. It will definitely be a hunting gun and I have no doubts about its performance as such.

I also want to use it as my entry into long distance shooting as I am just starting to get into that as a sport. I will upgrade down the road.

It's a good rifle but a distance from an SPS. I would have waited but that's me. As for its range limit i would consider 600 to be possible. Closest 600yrd is out in the BLM field.

Thanks for the input fellas, I thought it would have been obvious that this rifle would shoot a .308 bullet well over 600 yards. The key word was accurately, or should have been precise. I should have rephrased my questions to, "Will the rifle get me into long distance precision shooting while primarily being a pig slayer"

I think I will be passing on the rifle and starting my ar10 build in any case. I feel this build will serve both these purposes!

To take out a hog at 600 doubt it.. But with in 300 probably..

But dont plan on winning any competitions with it. And the AR 10 will be a way better choice.. just plan on spending about 3x to 4x as much as the howa set up.

I had a Howa. Sold it.

The .308 ARs can keep up just fine with the Howa, and even shoot a bit better and the POI is more consistent. And yes, my Howa was a sub-MOA shooter.

Just save yourself some time, money, agony, etc...and get a tried and true M700.
