        wonderful video

How much are you paying per round to reload those 77gr 223 rounds?

I will try and answer questions. According to JBM the bullet is still supersonic to just over 800 yards. I am getting around 2650 fps out of the 16" barrel. Not bad considering I am only getting around 2775 from the 20" barrel.

As far as being able to do harm at 600 yards....it is stll going 1388 fps with 330 foot lbs of energy....For comparison....a 9mm shooting a 115 grain bullet has about 1100 fps and
          309 lbs of energy....at the muzzle.....So I think the .223 would leave a mark!

I will probably do another video using the 55gr ball ammo....I like a challenge!

Nothing really special about the upper or whole rifle really. It uses a C3 Defense billet lower. A 3 lb. Timney trigger. The upper is a JP VTAC model with match grade 1:8 twist ,adjustable gas block, and full weight bolt carrier and buffer.
          Optics are a Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16X mounted with a JP ring/base.

The rifle seems to shoot just about anything I feed it well. I use 40gr Nossler bullets for coyote hunting and have shot 2 1/2" groups at 300 yards with those rounds.

Keep and eye on my YouTube page....more videos soon!

Yeah! If anyone thinks AR's can't shoot that far, talk to this guy. He shoots at 1K all the time. And for the real non believers, last we were out the gentleman next to us was shooting a service rifle from 600 and 800 and killing the X ring. Iron sights with a sling.

Great shooting Stan! The file has no recoil looks like it's really nice to shoot. If you get surplus ammo and shoot post it up! I'm very curious about how it will do. I am considering buying an AR again...

Bravo Company makes a few types of 16" barrels:

16" Standard M4 Lightweight (Mil-Spec CMV Steel, Thin Barrel Contour, 1/7 Twist, Button Rifled, Chromed Bore and Chamber)
16" Standard M4 Carbine (Mil-Spec CMV Steel, USGI Barrel Contour, 1/7 Twist Button Rifled, Chromed Bore and Chamber)
16" Standard M4 SOCOM (Mil-Spec CMV Steel, Medium Barrel Contour, 1/7 Twist Button Rifled, Chromed Bore and Chamber)
16" Hammer Forged Mid-Length (Mil-Spec CMV Steel, USGI Barrel Contour, 1/7 Twist Hammer Forged Rifling, Chromed Bore and Chamber)
16" Stainless Mid-Length (410 Stainless Steel, Medium Barrel Contour, 1/8 Twist Button Rifled then Hand-Lapped and NOT Chromed Lined)

The BCM SS410 16" Mid Length Upper has very similar specs as the JP VTAC, same twist rate, same gas system length, similar barrel contour under the handguard, but with the following differences:
BCM: 410 Stainless Steel (Harder, more durable) JP: 416 Stainless Steel (The industry standard stainless barrel material)
BCM: 5.56 NATO Chamber (Longer throat/lead) JP: .223 Wylde Chamber (A .223/5.56 compromise chamber)
BCM: Lapped bore (improves accuracy) JP: Cryo-treated (improves cold bore accuracy?)
BCM: Handguards not Included (so you CAN free float) JP: Free Float Tube Standard

So I think that particular BCM upper would come close, but not the other ones.

Nice rig and glass. Have you tried the same with an Acog and mil 55gr?

I am curious as to the differences.

IDEALY... HighPower shooters try to get as close to 2800fps with a 80gr SMK for 600+ yds.. A 77GR match bullet going 2700 will make it to 600yds in a 16" barrel but I wouldn't want to depend on it for scores

here is the thing that people don't get no matter what rifle you shooting if your not prone with bipod and using sand bags and reloads or Match ammo your not going to hit nothing at that range!
