Yep, that why 77gr is better then 62grm or 55gr...but will the round cause damage enough to kill? Some US Army information says, No. It will cause damage, just not the kind that they want. Certainly not the same amount of damage as a 308 would do, or a 6.8, or a 7.62x39 even thats the problem I have seen 800yard videos with AR15s.

Great shooting BTW...way way better then I can do.

all be it true that the .223 will not do as much damage as the .308 at that distance, I still dont wanna be out there with nothing but a catchers mitt. I dont care who you are, getting hit with a .223 at any distance is definitely going to crap in your cheerios.

do you know what kind of muzzle velocities you are getting with the 77grn? I wonder if it is trans/subsonic at that range?

is this a special upper? How do you think the BCM 16" upper would fare? its built for the 77gr bullets

it is a very special upper.

Most or should I say all of the components on a JP build is top notch and match grade. They are known to be sub moa shooters out of the box with the right shooter behind the rifle and ammo.

I will one day afford one

Not a chance, those should be good to nearly 800yds.

We use 80gr VLDs out to 1,000yds all the time.

Stan you should just do it with 55gr to test it's "max" effectiveness for those guys who are really want to know.

                        Cool video as alway!

Depends on what barrel it is and what material it's made of.

Awesome build and shooting. I wish there's a range nearby that goes out that far, so I can test my rifle's capabilities.
