Just wondering, what are the cheapest sub-moa .223 bolt action rifles? I don't care if it doesn't shoot factory ammo too well, as I will custom load some ammo for the rifle.

That's easy, Savage. With custom loads I shot 1/4MOA groups with my stock Savage model 12. Not bad for a $400 gun. After I replaced the stock, bedded it, and did a trigger job the groups drop to around 0.19. Not bad at all for a $600 gun

Tikka, Rem, or Savage will get the job done... Just hope you get one made in the middle of the reamers lifespan. Guns machined with new factory reamers can have very generous proportions.
One issue you might find is that factory barrels tend to have slow twist rates. This means you are not abel to shoot longer VLD bullets needed to buck the wind. Make sure the gun you get can shoot the 80gr vlds.Last edited by 264charlie; 02-10-2010, 3:28 PM.TEAM GAP, Shooter 7

Go with the Stevens I guess. Do what you wantz. Or go with these cheapest .223 bolt actions I found!
