I'd like to appropriate one , but I seriously doubt they (ACR/SCAR) will ever make it within our communist borders.

They would make it in today if I could get my hands on one.

It's not on any list, all it needs is a mag lock and someone will find a way.

Yes reloading is cheaper but you also have to weigh the time commitment for reloading ammo. 5.45 makes for hassle free plinking I know after I've reloaded 500 rounds, the last thing I want to do is plink it away uselessly. I've also found that surplus 5.45 out performs any of the cheap 5.56/.223 depending on the gun you run it through.

the ACR will come in 7.62x39 too

....and the before mentioned 5.45 I seem unable to find pics of at the moment. You could look on this forum and find them. I'll look over my other comp later and see if I can find them.
OK, so it's more like an AR180, big deal.

I still would rather shoot and reload brass cased 5.56x45 and 6.8 SPC.

Several SCARs are here in CA actually. The ACR is nowhere sadly. YET.

You aren't considering reloading either. That makes 5.56 cheap and you get to tailor the load to the rifle and fool around with different bullets.

The big payoff is that you get to shoot ~Wolf quality ammo for a little bit less than you would pay for actual Wolf ammo.
Milsurp 5.45 is not Wolf quality, and btw wolf makes some pretty good ****. It aint for puzzy azz guns though . I have read of many people getting 1.5-2 MOA with Milsurp 5.45 in their AK-74s. That aint bad especially when comparing to chrome lined ARs and our 3-4 MOA milsurp ammo.

I do see the whole reloading issue. Over time i believe we will get brass 5.45 in the US. IIRC they have it in Russia and perhaps other places but they dont bring it here due to "demand". Everyone and their chinchilla is getting on the 5.45 boat now so its bound to happen, and I predict it will happen fairly soon. Until then though your point is spot on.

And btw, IIRC Hornady is going to make 5.45 and 7.62x39 ammo. I think itl be steel cased but it will be in accurate loads with ballistic tips and all that cool stuff. I dont believe it will be super cheap though.

looking at this picture it looks like a solar tactical ak mag lock would work on this if not it would be pretty damn close nothing a little of this and that couldnt fix!

That's the coolest thing I've ever read here. If my sig wasn't so cramped with crap now I'd run it.

Within 6 months of its release someone will have a maglock for it. Someone should get a prerelease rifle to Radd so he can get to work!

If the base model gets released at under $1500, the ACR will be my next rifle!

It looks sweet, and I've definitely been putting off buying another AR15 for months and months because I'm been saving for the ACR.

Thats a picture of the Masada. The rifle has been changed quite a bit, and one of the changes was the magazine release. The mag release on the ACR is now an ambidextrous safety on the side of the receiver (well, both sides). A new BB is going to have to be developed, the Solar lock won't work.

Ha! No joy. Get ready to spend big if you want to get your hands on one of these.

This is the solution we came up with and works great! Remove the stock push pin and then insert our block put a penny in so when you tighten the block you won't risk damaging the stock. As you can see this takes less than 60 seconds so if you ever want or have the need to return to a folder you can do so and your SCAR will not suffer any damage. If anyone wants one let me know, we have the same design for SIG folders.
