Bullet button for AR-10 and a few other AR-10 questions?

I have a Noveske N6 and was wondering what bullet buttons would fit on it. I'm hoping to get something like the raddlock so if i go out of state i can just twist a screw to make it fully functional. I'm also wondering about stocks, do I have to get an AR-10 specific stock or will AR-15 stocks fit? And my last question, whats the best gas system for an AR-10? When I built my AR-15 UCLAplinker pointed me toward the mid length gas system. I went with that and I haven't been disappointed. Most of the AR-10 uppers I have seen have carbine gas systems, is that better for an AR-10?

The N6 takes the usual bullet button. Any of the magazine locks that remain "inside" the shape of the magazine button will work on the N6.

You don't need an AR-10 specific stock, but you will want an AR-10 specific heavy buffer.

Cool, thanks for the info. I was hoping I could use another raddlock for this build.

JTROCKS (?) makes a AR-10 specific BB that uses the standard mag spring, a plus for AR-10 users.

What Gene said with one exception of the PRS stock, where the AR-15 PRS stock would fit, but would not clear the charge handle with cheek rest extended; for the AR-10 they trim the cheek rest for clearance.

ah, ya i found that stock while looking at Rainier Arms site and it was the first one I've seen that was labeled AR-10. So how about the gas system? Is the carbine more effective for an AR-10 or is it the same scenario as an AR-15 where it cycles harder and wears parts out faster?

Thanks for mentioning my mag lock. Some AR10s call for a longer body some don't and the standard mag lock for an OLL AR-15 will work. If you haven't seen my design here it is.

AR Raddlock Version 2 can be installed on AR10 receiver. But AR10 receiver is slightly wider than the AR15 receivers. So, you can install the AR Raddlock without the included O-ring.
In fact, with the new internal upgrades, the O-ring is not necessary in most application now!

The recoil spring is different on the AR-10 as well as the buffer.

AR-10s only have midlength and rifle length gas systems. The gas tubes on both are slightly longer than on the AR-15s.

Really depends on what you want to build, a carbine type rifle with 16" barrel or a longer range rifle with a 20" barrel.

I'm thinking about getting one of these uppers http://riflegear.com/p-462-noveske-n...-10-upper.aspx

it says it has a carbine gas system, so is that really midlength but they call it carbine for AR-10's?

Anyone got suggestions on which would be better for an AR-10? Mid-length or full Length? I want to build this thing so it can eat pretty much any ammo and not have issues functioning.

how far do you want to shoot?...308 is a good round for distance. I would do a rifle 21-24 inches min.

I definitely want it to reach out to 500 yards, 1000 would be nice but I'm not that good yet and I haven't shot at a 1000 before. I was thinking of going with a 20" barrel. But I'm guessing longer is better for longer ranges.

Any AR10 can roll to 7,800m. It's beyond that the longer barrels really start to shine/matter.

Have you handled an AR10? They're beasts to begin with, so barrel length is the least of your worries for handling, compared to an AR where you can build the rifle light or heavier. The AR10 is very heavy or really heavy.

Personally, I'd put a 20"+ barrel on it, so you can keep the velocity up.
