I printed one and thought, "30% infill is NOT what is used to be".

imo, the exile backfin is the best fin grip attachment compared to what is out there today.

Worked for me.
The .stl files appear good.

I used the .stl and sliced in the new cura 5.x and it is taking a lot longer to print than 50 minutes (that's how long a hollow one takes) at 30% infill with cross hatch pattern fill. Looking good, I didn't use any supports. I'll compare a PLA+ one with the original ones I have from Exile before trying other materials... all I have right now is a spool of the Stronghero3D CoPA/TPU Carbon Fiber stuff (nylon/TPU... maybe CF).

pretty sure it uses a magpul miad grip.

I guess I am giving up on this quest, hahah. Was not that important, but I thought it would be fun to print a gun related item myself. I have a pile of those one-piece Xi Jinp Jism grips that don't fall apart after a few range trips anyway. I am doing real important print jobs like collapsing Katanas and Deadpool busts like all the other nerds. WTF.

For goodness sakes man, print those conversion followers for the G22, you could sell a few thou for $10 a piece. The code is in the public domain. The guy that coded it went to Mars or something like that.

Yeah, the MIAD 1.1 has the "Removable and replaceable front and rear straps for a custom fit over multiple hand sizes"... the Backfin was designed to replace one of the rear straps with a fin + thumb rest.

PLA grips at 30% infill seem plenty strong to me with a lot less flex (super rigid) then the original ones I have... dunno about the fit with MIAD or spring yet... have not even printed a spring. I'm sure ll this was hashed out when the files were released, but I think consumer 3D printers may have improved bit since then... and the CURA slicing engine just improved last revision as usual.
