Yes it can depending on your grip height etc, though it's a simple matter to roll your thumb up a little to give it clearance, without moving your whole hand or losing your cheek weld.

This is easy to learn and becomes second nature in no time.

It's really too bad Matrix Aerospace was sued by Gibbz and lost as they had a much better telescoping dust cover arrangement...

In any case I went with the Gibbz as it's the best "affordable" solution IMO, and it works fine. You'll also likely prefer a LH Mag Release too.
