I'm not leftie but I do shoot left handed...for that reason I didn't get the t91 upper

I like the side charger uppers but the one thing most have in common is the charging handle on the right side. You kind of want it on the left side so that you can run it without breaking your firing side grip on the gun.

I got a Devil Dog Concepts side Charging Handle for my long range upper for my SCR and I have to say it works really well, and it's on the left side.. $139

Or you can do what most people with an AK-47 does - rotate the rifle counter clockwise 90 degrees and use their left hand.

One other thing, all of these complete side charging uppers come with a bolt carrier that isn't going to work with an SCR.

Your SCR Bolt Carrier has to be modified so the bolt handle is attached to it.

I also have a Gibbz Arms G9 9mm carbine that I pieced together a year or so ago. Gibbz stuff is pretty good and as mentioned earlier, you don't need a propitiatory bolt to make it work (you do need a new cam pin I believe but it's easy to put on and use).

What I like about Gibbz Arms (and JP Enterprise and a few others) is that the charging handle is on the left side of the rifle, opposite of the ejection port. The one up top with the wood stock is a left handed upper.

The Gibbz SCU is the best for the SCR, seeing you don't want the standard charging handle hitting you in the face if you keep your cheek weld. You use the Gibbz Cam Pin with the Fightlight BCG, i.e. no machining needed (as long as you're right handed!).

There are other way more expensive side charging options though the SCR lower is already top dollar, so I cut my expenditures and went with the Gibbz.

There are a few Calguns threads on building SCR's (including mine), just search for them etc. Mine is great, functions perfectly, and it's reasonably accurate (under 1 MOA at 100yds on bags with quality ammo. I got my side charging upper here...

When you are laying Prone it is difficult to run a charging handle with your right hand and you must break your firing grip on the gun to do it..

Much easier with the left hand.

Try using the stock AR Charging Handle while laying down. You'll see what I'm talking about.

I have always use my left hand under the rifle to charge right hand charging handles. Seems to work fine for me.
