The AR stoner side charger uses a special BCG with a hole in it for the handle. It won't work with the SCR because you have to use the SCR proprietary bolt carrier. I think there is a thread somewhere where someone ended up drilling and tapping a hole in their SCR carrier to attach a handle for a right side charge.

The Gibbz/NFA and other similar left side chargers use the stock bolt carrier so you can use the proprietary SCR bolt on it.

I picked up the Stoner side charging receiver for $199 on sale about two years ago and added a barrel and handguard myself to get total price lower and my choice of those.
I put a extended bolt release on so I can charge, drop bolt and drop mag all with right hand. Its runs just fine. I don't run more than 100 rds without checking the allen bolt securing the charging handle to make its not working loose.
For longer scopes the side charger avoids reaching under the eye piece to charge.

Not judging, just curious alpha, why would you have a gun or an upper that you feel the need to recheck the charging handle on after a 100 rounds?

I am on the same page as the OP. I keep in allen wrench with me because you have to remove the handle to pull the BCG. I don't believe you can use a lock washer on the handle because of clearance.

Thx. The Fightlite SCR lower goes for around $500 to start, pricey for sure. Had a Stag LH carrier machined to replicate the Fightlite carrier ($250). The stock is a Remington 1100 standard which was shaped to fit the lower and forarm is milled from block of walnut ($100). Add the appropriate $$$ for barrel, handguard, upper, scope, etc., you'll get past $1K pretty quick.

Very pleased with performance. With about 200 rounds downrange to date, Stag BCG performance has been flawless (cycle & eject). Excellent accuracy, aided a bit by the Leupold

Only downside to my Stoner Side-charger is manipulating the bolt with the shell catcher in place.

That works fine for southpaws, for the rest of the world the handle is on the wrong side and would be better off with a standard charging handle.
