Is the barrel nut/threading ar-15 standard? Or more to the point, could you replace the handguard with a free floated one?

Is there any truth to something I read elsewhere stating that Wolf will be shipping them in the near future with different front sight blocks that will match up with standard AR15 sights, or is that just someone blowing smoke?... or do those front sight blocks work fine with standard ar15 rear sights?
