Weight/Balance - Will it make the rifle too muzzle heavy?

Quality - Close ups of the internal parts machining and finish make me nervous.

Spare Parts - I like to have access to spare parts.

The price is good and if it's decently accurate and stone reliable I'll probably pick one up after the early adopter guinea pigs have put it to the test. I just never buy stuff until it has been evaluated by real shooters.

Besides I don't know if I need another AR.

    Taiwan - 240,000 rifles[citation needed]
    Bosnia and Herzegovina - 5,000 rifles[3]
    Indonesia - 10,000 rifles[citation needed]
    Jordan - 20,000 rifles[4]
    Kuwait - 18,000 rifles[citation needed]
    United Arab Emirates - 30,000 rifles[5]
    India 1,000s [6]
i mean if a military isn't "real shooters" then...

then only concern i do share with you is spare parts. Unless wolf also setup some imports for parts then if something breaks... doesn't seem like you can easily find replacements.

I can't count the number of modern milsurp guns I have sitting broken, for want of parts.

How dare you put down haggis!

When carbon and powder residue gets blown back into the charging handle channel, charging the rifle become a gritty experience. Also, if you don't clean/lube your rifle often enough....(Guilty)...you get a less than smooth action because the lube burns off too.

My experience with piston rifles (especially the SCAR 16 and 17) is that the lube stays where its supposed to be and the actions stay clean. Don't get me wrong the AR design has proven itself to me, but that doesn't mean its anything close to perfect.

Your right that many years of use may not ensure a good rifle has evolved. As I said in an earlier post I'll wait until there is more of a consensus by real shooters before I buy. I'm not an early adopter. I skipped the ARX100, the Tavor bullpups, etc. etc.

The T91 upper is a tentative want.

And as I said there is no guaranty the parts will be of the same quality as the military version.
sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

Doesn't mean the T91 uppers we will get are built to the same standards as those used by the military.

Real shooters are American shooters, because I want the American version tested. Parts are a real problem if they aren't available. I don't by stuff I can't get spares for.

I think many people adopt things too eagerly.

The guy who owns the rifle has a few thousand rounds through it and no problem. The whole group of us put about 500 rounds through the rifle on that particular day with no malfunctions. I will definitely be getting one at $599.

I like the idea that the rifle has been in use for many years. I just hope they didn't cheapen any parts for the consumer market.

The Haggis is a sacred thing to us Scottish Americans. Insulting the Haggis is a sure way to start a bar brawl.... just sayin'.

Back to OP, I be on the waiting list for this upper now. I've been wanting it since I first heard they MIGHT be importing them, and the more I learn about Taiwanese firearm engineering, the more I'm impressed with their ingenuity.

Looks like AIM Surplus is selling them too, and currently out of stock.

Just about every shooter with a Taiwanese background is going to get one so I think you'll get a lot of feedback on it. I'm just hoping we get more accessories for it.

Is the barrel nut/threading ar-15 standard? Or more to the point, could you replace the handguard with a free floated one?

Haha apparently their back in stock email notifications don't work too well.

Told my girlfriend my last 2 stripped lowers were for our future children. Well, I built one up last week, and now I'm buying another upper. I'm sure they'll enjoy them more already assembled anyway.
