once again this is a hobby. I felt good about it. I just wanted to share it
OP take everything with a grain of salt. Your original post suggested that you wanted to build a rifle that can perform those kind of groupings and you called it success.. We are simply stating that your goal is Misguided and telling you what you should be trying to achieve. Baby steps of coarse, but remember, the rifle is capable of much much better accuracy with that scope and at that distance, so aim higher, otherwise you'll achieve that goal fairly easily and you'll be satisfied with sub par groupings

I do because I dont back down and I stand up to ego BS.

My last ban was for mocking guys telling a new AR15 owner to buy an 30 year old A2 fixed Iron Sight upper when he wanted to shoot groups at 800 yards... That advice is retarded.

In SoCal there is a fun, casual "match" which is 90% practice time with the AR15 in position shooting at least two weekends a month (sometimes as many as four). If you let us know ahead of time that you are coming someone will show up planning to spend a portion of their time working with you on fundamentals. Today we shot rattle battle practice from 8am to 9:30am and then had open practice until 11:30. I worked on sitting and prone, two guys worked on offhand and one guy did some chronograph testing. It was a light group as it was Memorial day, sometimes we have as many as 20 people on the line.

These practices are held mostly at Angeles Shooting Range, but they also happen at Ojai Valley Gun Club, Burbank Rifle and Revolver Club, and Camp Pendleton (only once or twice a year). Feel free to PM me, but look at the website beingofservicerifle.com and check out the calendar.

weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?

                Ok buddy.. Whatever that means...

Once ur done being a little princess on the Internet and start reading between the lines.. Everyone here is just trying to tell you if you want to build an Accurate AR, the groupings you posted is not the goal..

Build th rifle to be able to achieve the groupings below...those are 1 inch red squares by the way

Dude I'm not talking about shooting skill, I'm talking about building an AR...

Your first post said that you wanted to build An AR as accurate as your friends.

My post said that is not what you want to build an AR to achieve.. You want to be able to build a rifle that can achieve the grouping I posted (which isn't even mine)

Sitting at a bench shooting on your elbows or sitting on the ground, that is not bad for a new shooter. The groups have a nice shape and I don't see any wild shots. If you want to get better or make your shooting system better, there has been some advice given that would help. The fine art of marksmanship is about the details so the more details you give us the better our advice will be.

My rig is similar to yours, except I have a 4X scope. I'm not trying to show that I am a better shot but what a system like yours could do if tuned to it's potential.

He built his AR, now he is going to use it. Maybe you should worry less about his group size.

Just because the Mods and Admin allow contributors to be *******s doesnt mean you need to be one.

I have an LWRC AR15 too like it a lot. Started just using the stock iron sights and now using Vortex Optics Spitfire works great.

One should become proficient with iron sights before using glass. I'm just sayin..........
