Btw, the DPMS upper is really good. DPMS barrels are underrated and the .22lr bolt design is Nordic. But if the price is that close to a Taccom, I'd lean a little towards the Taccom. If you can get the DPMS for about $300-325, I'd get the DPMS.

I have spoken to Tim at Taccom about this and he is trying to source new uppers to lower the cost.

        Thanks for the suggestions all!
Btw, I have a CMMG conversion bolt and the inaccuracy is just not that appealing to me. For the money, the DPMS or the Taccom are hard to beat.

$339.95 list, but supposedly they will have new pricing.

This is from the guy that designed the original Nordic Components .22lr upper. I have one of those uppers and I'm shooting under 1/2"@50yds with CCI Standard Velocity, SK Ammo, Wolf Match and under 1"@50yds with CCI Tactical or Blazer.
This. I have one, also went w/ the mag adapter to use the S&W 22 mags. Seems very light and high quality to me.

I hear the M&P mags are most reliable and cheap, but require an adapter/block if I'm using a standard lower.

What mags are most of you using for your .22 AR's, and do they have any issues?

I think the base 5.56 twist is the big decider in a .22lr conversion. I had a .223 upper (not 5.56) with a 1/9 twist non-chrome lined barrel that with a ciencer .22lr conversion BCG shot as or more accurate then a 10-22 past 150yards. It also out shot a Colt .22 and one of those GSG clone MP-5s.

So if your current centerfire upper is a 1/7, a conversion BCG will shoot like poop, but I bet a 1/9 will be just as accurate as a cheap .22lr.

Of course a quality made ($400) dedicated 1/16 twist upper will be better, but NEVER as good as a $400 .22lr bolt action, like a Savage Mark II http://www.gandermountain.com/modper...=914301&r=view

I had a Savage Mark II with a bull barrel and it didn't shoot nearly as well as my Nordic.

                    .22lr AR-15 questions

I bought the S&W 15-22. No problems whatsoever. Shoots great. Easy to find mags. Lightweight, accurate, exact AR controls, easy to clean, and just plain fun. Now why the hell would I want to go and try something more expensive that may or may not work 100% with my lower, have a hard time finding mags, reliability issues, accuracy issues, and whatever else. left targets and top center are on a rest. Center and right targets freehand all at 50'.

Does anybody have any experience with the Mossberg 715T? I only ask because I just saw it on sale for 250 at a local Big 5.

I hear its a complete fake AR. Please check this out. I was told they took a cheap .22lr and placed it inside a fake AR15 shell... like what guys do here with Airsoft guns.

Confirmed, just got to take a look in person. It's a mossberg plinker action inside a very poorly made plastic shell. Rails all warped, molding lines everywhere, even a fake, non functional charging handle.

I've been looking myself for a good deal on a dedicated upper. If I don't find one soon I may just buy the m&p 15/22 at turners. They're on sale right for $399.

I picked up ATI upper in January, have about 3000 rounds through it all different brands ammo, 5 to 8 ftf, accurate enough to hit the 50 yard steel all day long at Sac Valley
