I realize that this might be extremely lame compared to an actual AR with a 30 round magazine, but what about some new design to keep us out of jail if (God Forbid!) these new bills pass the Leg and get signed into Law?

If the law ever comes to pass, I would assume that some older designs would have a resurgence of interest...

...all are stripper clip friendly and a fixed magazine away from legality. "Cali FALs" were on the market in the old days before the rise of the OLL.

UMOS is a better option for a pump build. Bentwood Gunsmithing doesn't make them anymore, but I was able to get in touch with the product's developer, who is still making and selling the kits (I have one, and I'm in mid-build right now).
