I've done a couple Giessele installs, it's really, really easy. You need a third hand or vise to get the second pin in while you compress the hammer but that's about it.

The drop in trigger packs are even easier. You can do the install yourself for sure.

Regarding Giessele specifically, I have an SSA and a G2S; both are great. Feel the same to me. If I was buying another trigger it would probably be the G2S; great trigger and great price.

I am a HUGE fan of the RRA match trigger. It doesnt cost an arm and a leg, it took me 5 mins to put in and took my gritty GI trigger and turned it into a nice 2 stage match trigger for 62 bucks... both me and my brother have them and can not say enough good about them. Website says 4.5-5lb pull...based on what i know...it feels more like 3.5-4 tops

Geissele makes a great trigger. It's as good as match triggers for bolt rifles.
I also like the RRA NM trigger, it is excellent for the price and while the rumors that it will slowly lose it's second stage are true they will replace or fix it for free during. You can buy a pair of RRA NM triggers for less than the best Geissele triggers. JBO has the RRA NM for $100 or as part of a full parts kit for $150. You can't beat that with a stick.

I ran an RRA NM for a while and went to a Geissele Hi Speed NM trigger and was actually really surprised at how little changed. I like the Geissele management of overtravel, adjustability and exceptional lifespan, but it's only about a 10% better feeling trigger than the RRA NM.

The "basic" CMCs (under $200) are single stage. Supposed to be great triggers. The fact that they drop in is neat, but unless you are changing triggers a lot, that convenience doesn't matter. Regular trigger groups are pretty easy to install also.

Big difference between ALG and true Geissele triggers, in design and price. The ALGs are "tuned" GI type semi-auto (single-stage) triggers. Most of the Geissele's are are 2-stage. I have two of each brand.

• Love the SSA-Enhanced for a precision trigger.
• I have the G2S in another rifle. It's okay, but not as crisp as my White Oak tuned RRA match trigger. The G2S does have a tiny bit of noticeable creep; the WOA-RRA does not.
• My ALG ACT trigger is pretty amazing for a "factory type" trigger.
• My ALG QMS trigger is pretty terrible. I'm not using it anymore. Might be hit and miss with all these ALG triggers. I could have gotten a particularly good ACT and a QMS that somehow made it off their line w/o any work what so ever being done to it.

OP, I have many different triggers, they're all decent and a few are amazing, but the return on investment may be the most important to you.

Considering value, I'd recommend this trigger, it'll be as good or better than CMC, Timney, or Geissele, and less expensive. http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/POF_.../pof-00457.htm

This is why assembling your own lower rather than buying a complete rifle is so valuable, since you build confidence to do relatively simple modifications like swapping a trigger.

I'm not sure I 100% agree with that. Yeah, assembling your own does get you familiar enough to realize that even a caveman can do it(installing a trigger group anyway). But the OP will get the same confidence simply by doing it himself with his existing rifle. All it really boils down to is that it's something he hasn't done, he needs to just suck it up and do it, and then he'll realize how simple it is.

I run the cmc 3.5 flat trigger and it's great, I cant see a trigger that costs twice the price being twice as good or even 30% better. My Brother shot It and loves it as well. The trigger group can seem intimidating but once you get into it and realize it's only 3 parts, it's no big deal.

Yeah my point was just that right now he is a bit afraid to even try. If he had installed the LPK in the first place he wouldn't have even started this thread. True though that after he does the install he will be more confidant, but what if he wants to swap his safety or buffer tube next?
