Should that make you an expert in things considered? I shoot with military and ex military individuals all the time and most of them are not even close of being proficient in marksmanship.

Means what? You shot them side by side? Compared them? Have a personal preference? Anyone can go to the range and shoot paper at the end it means just that and nothing more.

The fool a few posts up talkin' that crazy **** about FAL's being inferior to a Saiga should have his post count rolled back to zero.

Do you believe I care what my post count is? If it mattered to me it'd be much higher than what it is. Take a look at yours vs mine and I have 3 years on you.
As to FAL vs Saiga .308, yes hands down a Saiga .308 is superior. It's lighter (with a heavier barrel), better accuracy, better action etc...... You'll have better argument comparing FAL to M1A/M14.


The best semi .308 I've ever owned or shot. Better accuracy than most of the bolt guns I've owned/shot.

PSA $400 stainless barrel carbine kit + Anderson stripped lower on sale at RifleGear for $50 = $450 AR-15, eazy peazy. All you need is a rear sight and a bullet button. I assume you already have magazines.

If I had an 07 FFL I could take your parts kit and build a weapon for $200 plus 922R parts so about $350 total plus the cost of the kit.

OK so Rifle Dynamics Cerokotes too Big friggin deal could through that in for an additional $150 so that puts you at $500 plus the kit.

so even with a virgin Yugo, Or some rare arsed East German kit at $900 you're still far below $2000 with a better kit

So there is no reason on gods green earth that an AK should cost $2000 when you are building it from parts that everyone else can get.

Additionally if you build your own you can take all the time you need to make sure everything is perfect. ANY manufacturer including the supposed "high end" builders just can't do that. They have to push them out. To them time is money.

I have an unfired 16 inch Saiga 308 that I'd be willing to trade straight across for a suitable FAL. StG 58, IMBEL or Argie would be fine.

It does make me laugh though when the guys post up their PSA under $500.00 build then get all but hurt when someone points out that all they have is a PSA under $500.00 rifle...

Again, don't get all butt hurt...but all it will ever be is a closer to $600.00 PSA rifle, and if that is what you wanted when you bought it, you are golden...but let's not pretend it is something more than it is...that is when it starts getting funny.

Last time I looked at rifle Dynamics it was a 18 month wait to get a rifle built. I don't think they are just pushing them out, but they sure are milking it
