Actually I think the whole thread is dead when the people left participating only seem to just heap ad hominem missives at each other.

I'm pretty sure no one else reading this thread thinks CG87 was comparing the creation of this ammo shortage to a natural disaster, nor that the people in line at walmart are the two brothers.

There is only thing that tactic achieves, it leads others to believe the space between burnouts ears is vacuous and void.

Lets talk about the ammo shortage. Lets not get side tracked on the many differences between the ammo shortage and shortages during disasters or any other blatant exaggerations.

What is a flipper to you?

      A) Guy selling ammo out of his garage.
      B) mom and pop shop.
      C) franchise sporting goods store.
      D) wal mart
      E) federal ammo (ammo manufacturers)

      What was your choice?

Does your choice have a super tiny share of the market?

LoL, I didn't want them prior to the possibility of them being banned. Nothing has changed to want them now that they are "safe" for the time being.

As a spectator watching this unfold, it's been interesting to say the least.

That's just hilarious! Let's not get side tracked, says the guy who side tracks threads as a tactic of debate.

If by flipper you mean a guy that buys at retail from choices A-E and try's to bend people over during a panic by selling at double retail here in the marketplace or on gunbroker.
              I choose...
              F) d-bag

Not that I really care as I don't buy anything in the marketplace here or from private parties coupled with the fact that choice F has the right to price his ammo at whatever blows his skirt up...it is up to the buyer to not pay more than he/she is comfortable with.

Common occurrence when a massive ego gets singed by someone refusing to jump on the - OMG, I never thought of that. You're so brilliant! bandwagon.

As per usual, this topic could have been distilled down to it's smallest common denominator but then we wouldn't be able to practice our sophistry skills, would we?

I'm confused, why do ethics and economics need to be separated?
You use the term nice guy like others would sucker. That is disturbing. Matthew 7:12 "in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you..." Now I'm not a christian but this about jives with me. It definitely doesn't say do unto others as hard as you f@$!ing can.

Good business practices cultivate a good customer base and customer loyalty. Business is in it for the long term.

Flippers are opportunists. They are not interested in repeat customers. Would you call up a flipper and ask, "Hey, got any more of that $1/rd green tip?" Heck no. Flippers feed on fear and desperation. Their goal is a quick buck. They're ammo scalpers. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I saw lots of gun shops selling .223 for $.75- $1 each. Outdoor sportsman in stockton had $19.99 20rnd boxes last year. I didnt buy them. I didnt whine and call them immoral either.

True that. My business has been open 11 years.

I figured flippers were just firearm enthusiasts who saw a demand and wanted to supply it. Or maybe the flippers were stacked cheap and deep and wanted to at least make their stash available instead of being super greedy and not selling any. Maybe a few more anti-flipper comments will make me demonize them.

Edit 2: Church? No thank you, not my thing.
                              Edit: Were talking flippers here.
Is it not immoral to buy all of a valuable, highly desired resource in order to keep others from buying it, and re sell it for massively inflated prices?
If this were happening with food or water there would be no question what it was. In principle it is the same but because no one is going to die from lack of M855 it's just being profitable eh?

Green tip was that high last year? Are you sure you wasn't looking at some special lead free CA hunting ammo or something?
