The reason a market is compromised is irrelevant. That means it's not important. The guys buying the plywood aren't douchebags because a hurricane aids them,they are douchebags because they are using a compromised market, in this particular case an Impending hurricane and the anticipated need for plywood, water, and batteries, to interfere with supply, that means buy it up, then pretend there's a shortage.

You want to pretend this is dependent on a natural disaster, therefore apples and oranges? (It isn't, and everyone knows it isn't).

But, fine. Bunker hunt and his brother tried to corner the silver market, I think it was the 1980s. The idea was, they poised themselves to make moves that would buy enough silver that they could control the pricing. No hurricane, no "natural disaster, just Douchebaggery. It didn't work, but if it had, they would have set the price of silver. Not buyers, as you keep repeating like a mantra.

Small business owners do not run around town buying up something so that they can price it however they want,simply because nobody else has it.

A flipper, in this case of .22 ammo, sees an opportunity, due to an imperfect supply chain, to interfere, and purchase low this morning, and sell high this afternoon. Flippers are exess middlemen that only exist because of particular market confitions, here, an enormous run on .22 ammo, and no corresponding flood of supply to meet the demand. Limited brick and mortar outlets, etc.

For the buyers, no one is putting a gun to your head to buy, if you don't like the price, it's as simple as don't buy it. How hard is that?
