6.5 options for 3000fps

Iv been very happy with my 6.5x55 rem 700 loaded to modern powder levels behind 140gr amaxs. So much so that im tempted to chamber the custom action im putting together in swede as well but fear this might be boring and id end up using my rem a lot less which would be shame given the results iv had.

What 6.5 options do you guys suggest for 140gr 3000fps capability besides 6.5-284? I was thinking 6.5-06ai but the idea of annealing new brass then going through three sizing dies then possibly modifying it further is souring me on it.
Short or long action, no matter.

6.5 WSM easy! derived from a 270 WSM or just use 25-06 brass for a 6.5-06 and I would go with the Ackley version on that one...

I had a 7mag rebarreled to 264Win mag and it is a shooter.

I use Lapua 30-06 brass to make my 6mm-06 hunting rounds and its a single pass through the full length die.No worries about a 6.5-06 Ackley Improved or not.
Dan Armstrong the guy in Alaska who Tig welds on all the bolt handles has a 6.5 RSAUM.I believe he is getting 3400 fps with 140 grain bullets but it might be 3300 fps.
I have the reamer for making a wildcat based on the 338 Lapua case with a hemispherical shoulder if your interested.It is one of the SMc cartridges called a 6.5/65sMC not to be confused with the 6.5/60 sMC.Dies are expensive.

I have a buddy running a 6.5-06 Ackley with 139 scenars. I'll have to ping him on his velocity.

Why not just stick with what you have?

The 6.5X55 is about a perfect match of bore diameter and case capacity.

I was looking at building a 6.5 4S (6.5 RSAUM)

3100 FPS in a 26" barrel is a "light" load and is supposedly good for about 2500 rounds before needing a setback. Low pressure loads in the 53k-55k range makes for long lived brass and barrels. Redding makes dies and you can run a 7mm RSAUM case through once and trim it up.

But the truth is if you want a hotrod there is always some kind of down side.

2500 rnds sounds pretty good for that velocity, hard to believe. Im going to look into it.
Main reason im trying to avoid 6.5-284 is barrel burn rate, so some magnums are out.

Ive got a McGowan barreled 6.5x300 win. You can load it to around 3100 or if you are feeling frisky bump it up to 3400.

Actually McGowen is my go-to barrel as well. I'm on my third and was also looking at 6.5-300 as well but fear I'd be given McGowen business more often than I want with that cartridge.
