Great looking build, seems like it's a shooter too.

    Good work Randall
Indeed!!! I have a lot to learn, which is why I love shooting, theres always room for improvement! I've been shooting/hunting since I was a little kid, but im new to precision and long range.

I'm glad I squeaked out that group, I know the rifle is plenty capable, now its the operator that needs fine tuning.

They are out there, I believe stockys has some, or you can check other precision forums, they are always up for sale. Manners has some very nice stocks as well.

Good luck getting one straight from mcmillan unless you like waiting. Ha

              Range report in post 25

So, I picked up an SPS tactical and over the past 6 weeks i've been getting parts together for this build.

Heading to the gunsmith tomorrow to have the barrel threaded/brake blended, bolt knob installed and stock inletted for DBM. I'll update some pics tomorrow evening when I get it all put together and of course a range report to follow.

Down the line I plan on re-barreling and geting the action done, not decided on the caliber yet, but in the meantime im just going to shoot the crap out of it.

              Parts List.

              Rem700 SPS tactical (.308)
              Vortex PST (FFP 4-16 MRAD)
              McMillan A5 in McMillan camo
              PTG stealth DBM (M5)
              NF 20moa base
              Leupold MK4 rings
              Timney 517
              Badger Thruster brake
              Badger mini knob
              Harris-s
              Triad modular pack (multicam)
Thanks for the list. I'm gonna do mine just like this.

For the thruster brake, I want a threaded brake, but not sure which one I should get.

              Thanks

5/8-24 thread is standard. The thruster will need to be installed by a gunsmith as well, it needs to be opened up depending on the caliber and while youre at it they can index the brake so it is properly aligned. The stock dimension is 1" diameter, I had mine turned down to match the barrel contour which is .830 if im not mistaken.

There are other brakes out there that dont need a gunsmith to instal depending on what route you want to go.
