Of the choices you listed, go with the Bergara because it's a Remington 700 footprint action.
That means you can get 700 stocks and triggers when you are ready to upgrade from the plastic stock.
None of those other choices have even 10% of the aftermarket that a Short Action 700 receiver does.Randall Rausch

My irons for long-range (Palma) cost as much as a scope...

Don't buy a used rifle. Some rifles just seem to be less accurate. The saying goes to cars as well, don't buy one on a Monday or Friday. The rifles that have accuracy issues get sold and keep going around Gunbroker.
If you want to save, buy a used scope with a great warranty like Nightforce or Vortex. Get the Razor, not PST. Burris and Bushnells are great too. Buy used with confidence.
Accuracy costs $$$$.

Not if he's just shooting on a square range. A fixed SWFA should be more than adequate.
Not if he shoots something like 6.5 Creedmoor. Factory ammo is very good and if he doesn't already have reloading gear he's not going to shoot enough to make it worth buying.Comment
