on other forums, most recommend athlon for that sort of budget.

keep in mind, a day at the range can cost you $100+ for ammo these days so you don't have to give up much shooting to justify a little more for the scope.

What model. The less expensive Athlons are Chiner. Sub $700 Japanese glass is a no brainer.

Holy crap that's a smokin deal.
I just ordered one to have on the shelf for when I need another target scope.

I have that on my Savage Axis II Precision rifle. I like it.

                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

If you can go slightly above your budget, a Meopta Optika 6 3-18x50 is hard to beat optically. Plus TPS TSR 34mm rings, you are still below $1000.

that's why i suggested talking to doug.
he is very aware that many want to avoid chinama products and also can advise on any le/mil discounts that might be available.
maybe it is just me, but talking to people like randall or doug that have actually looked through a huge variety of glass is worth it if you can't do it yourself.

I put a Meopta Optika5 4-20x44 on my Rem. 700 SPS and love it. Great weight, excelllent clarity and I can dial in the Z-Plus reticle using Strelok Pro. Add rings and you are way below a grand. Impressive Euro optic's without the snobby price! I have an Optika6 3-18x50 on a 6.5CM and love it too. Reach out to Doug and see if he can hook you up. You won't regret it!

                                haha.
                                Market dynamics at play.
They lowered the price until a whole bunch of them sold and now they are adjusting up to slow the sales rate.
They will all eventually sell out even at the higher price so why not make a little more money per unit as they do?

I ordered last week at 670 and it arrived this week.
$735 total with tax and shipping was free.
