Three things my grandfather taught me to never do:
        1) Use a urinal right next to someone else if others are open,
        2) Put ketchup on a good steak, and
        3) Put a scope on a lever gun.

In addition to the eye relief problem, the ACOGs I have looked into have reticles with bullet drop compensators calibrated for .223/5.56 or .300 ammo, which makes the list of potential lever guns quite small.

Yes for that I would have to calculate what distance each line corresponds to and verify.

Curious what lever gun you plan to use?
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

In the days, reticles just had mil or moa dots and you had to figure out your own dope. The ACOG BDC is just a lazy crutch pre-doped for a specific caliber (which does make it awesome for many uses). But there's no reason they won't work for any other caliber, you just have to do the work like everyone used to, or you'd have to do with any other scope anyway. Eye relief notwithstanding, I'd think the 1.5 ACOG to be all-around more useful than the 4x on most lever guns.

Peep sites work real good on lever guns.

While I understand the nostalgia people have for only using irons on a lever gun, I don’t think that view makes sense in the end. I wonder, do those same people object to using smokeless powder, let alone post-“cowboy era” rounds? And what do you think someone in the Old West would have said if presented with the opportunity to stick a red dot or other optic on their levergun? They would have loved it!

I do agree that ketchup on steak is an unforgivable sin, however, and using an adjacent urinal while others are empty is certainly wrong.

Putting an ACOG on a lever gun should be illegal in all 50 states, simply because it's a crime against nature and all that is holy and good.

That being said, if it works for what you want to accomplish. Do it! In fact, do it just because you can!

I suggest a TA11 for the longer eye relief and more forgiving eye box.
