The Mojave!

Oh, it was indeed a fantastic day in the Mojave. 65, maybe 70 degrees tops. No wind, just a very slight breeze. And no body but us! Perfect conditions. And, the .45's ruled the roost. Both Colt and acp. Had to locate to another area, as Cal-Trans[?] had some roads closed for some kind of construction. Weird. We got around it, North of Hwy 58 and did our thing. Great day of shooting. Very relaxing. But, no USAF airshow this time. Still, FUN!!

Glad to hear it, you guys. It was blowin' hard enough here near the coast to blow the arse through a snake.
Got my wheels and tires on, though. Gettin' old! and I'm a out of shape. These things weigh 93 lbs each, and there're five of them (full size spare, commown!)

Chris, lookin' good! It's ready. Getting to our old spot was a no go. From about a mile or so south of that, crews had both sides of the hwy all tore up, traffic was STOPPED dead heading north. We said screw it and went towards Fremont Pk and found a spot. For about 3-4 miles, they had all dirt roads closed off, both sides. We'll have to see about "our area" when the work is done.

Yeah buddy, you would have needed those tires to get to where we went yesterday. Per BLM: we can shoot north of hwy 58, so the spot we were at yesterday is good to go but with the hwy down like it is, it's just too far or too long a wait. We drove from Krammer Junction to Barstow then home. It's a toss up if we go the 395 because we waited 45+ minutes due to construction.Last edited by golfish; 04-11-2019, 3:05 PM.It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

That gizmo was pretty accurate! I would NOT want to be in front of it if you're firing at me. What a great day, yet again! The Mojave!

Mark, I'm heading up to Burro Cyn this morning[Fri] about 9:00 am. At the rifle range. .357 and .45 Colt. And my spotting scope. Can you make it? Kinda last minute, but, it's all I got this week.Comment

I always have dinner in Mojave "Proper"!Perfect. I have no interest in sitting in 3PM traffic on my way back.
Last time we hit the dirt, I had dinner in Mojave proper, simply to avoid metro freeway traffic. I would like to eat at that messican place round the corner from your house next week, though, but only if you and Tom go too.
Just south of town off Backus road
