    Scope selection advice for .223...

I want a better scope for my Remington 783 .223. It is a cheap rifle, but I do not mind buying a good scope that an be shared with other rifles. I really know very little about scopes.

The prices are pretty wide... help me choose. I would like to shoot out to 300 yards, but mostly around 100 - 150 yards.

    $355 - Leupold VX-3i 3.5-10x40mm Matte Duplex (most-ish I would spend)

    $259 - Primary Arms 4-14X44 FFP Scope w/ ACSS Orion Reticle .308/.223

    $203 - Weaver 849780 Optics Kaspa Tactical Scope, 1.5-6 x 32mm, Dark Earth

    $158 - Nikon P-223 3-9x40 Mate BDC 600

Feel free to add your choice, if not listed above, $500 is my max.

Thanks for the tip. The problem is that all these scopes + the one you listed all get excellent reviews. I assume any will suit my needs. But I do not get to buy a lot of guns and scopes, so I want to be happy with my purchase for a long time.

Is there something that makes the SWFA SS 10x42 Tactical 30mm better or better for me?

I am a pragmatist. I only like to shoot realistic ammo in realistic situations. I am never going to be a great technical shooter.

Vortex crossfire II 4x16x50 or 4x12x40
Life time warranty, clear glass, the 50 comes with a sunshade, and within your budget.

Stay away from crap like primary arms or any tactical branded crap. all others on your list are great scopes for your needs. The SWFA is a fixed scope as well as a heavy scope, PASS on that thing.

Do you guys think the SWA scope is too heavy for that rifle?

Don't forget the bushnell AR scopes. I have 2 of them. 1-4x24 and 3-12x40.

You shouldn't need to spend more than $200 on a scope for that rifle. The rest should be used to BUY AMMO.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

I'm running that leupold on my ruger American ranch in 5.56 and I love it. I also have the m-223 4-16x42 on an at and it kicks *** as well

I'd go with the leupold if your sticking to that list

Vortex, lifetime warranty and great optics, Diamondback line is very decent.
BTW, you cannot "share" scope between rifles

                      I'd get the Nikon P-223 3-9x40 BDC 600 or this Leupold https://www.amazon.com/Leupold-12061...pold+cds+scope

                          Leupold for the win.

I have the Nikon p223 on my at and really like it. Easy to set up and works very well, had it about a year now with no issues.
