Did I say anything about cases blowing?

How did you come to that conclusion from what I typed?

What happens is light primer strike because the bullet is not seated right. And some people say it affects accuracy because the bullet is not seated right. Have you ever converted a rifle from 06' to a European round like 7x57 or 6.5x55? I have done 2 rifled a R700 to 7x57AI and a Savage 111 to 6.5x55AI. The bullets will chamber but they will not be seating up against the bolt face right. Not without a gunsmith to true up the reciever.

      Elevensoul-

Is that with all brass? I've read that American made 6.5x55 has the same as 30-06. Obviously this is all from the internet and other forums so who knows how accurate this info is

The American Brass will work just fine as most of it is based off 30-06'.

I had a list I got off the Internet off all the 6.5x55 made from 30-06' cases.

You will have to search around and find it.

It is not a big cost to True Up the Bolt.

And it will open up the availability of all the excellent Euro Ammo.

Oh you do know the American Ammo is super weak right? If you ever fired a .25ACP that is what it felt like. Slightly less recoil than a .204.

I have been stocking up on Hornady brass since I reload. I am just assuming that it will not fit so I will look around for a somewhat reputable gunsmith in my area that will open it up. From what I have read it really is a very small amount.

To do it proper and have the best accuracy yes.

                However to just shoot...no!

So what is the difference between No go and field guage?

Typically 0.004" of length in a 308/30-06 size cartridge.

Read this and decide if you actually need the field gauge or not.
Anyone telling you that you absolutely do, likely does not understand the barrel nut system you are working with.

                          6.5-06 you say?

Neck size some 30-06 brass? I have no experience with wildcats or whatever that qualifies. But i am intrigued

I'd full length size it, but yes just a necked down 30-06.

I don't know if you could order a pre-fit in that spec, but even if you couldn't a smith can still turn a blank into a prefit.

Meh. After 30 seconds of research i have decided that although cool that would be too much work.

Is full bull barrel overkill? 1 inch muzzle diameter vs .810...

                                Almost seems absurd..
