It's nice to get a brake that looks clean with your barrel, but with big barrels, you usually want the biggest brake. Also, the parkerized brakes are nice because it is often shocking how gummed up brakes get if you do not clean them. I opt for brakes bigger than the barrel. Here are 338-510 barrels and brakes.

If the cartridge is .308 or smaller, I prefer a more passive break to combat muzzle jump. The ones pictured are all boomers.Comment

So if you bead and blast, what type of paint is recommended and will it travel well to that paint stage bagged a day or week later?
And is there some type of skin that can go on a barrel to seal it that's effective and more than cosmetic?
