I feel for you.
I'm sitting here looking at this empty chassis...feeling sorry because it is so naked and empty and alone, with nothing to accompany it but me and my whiskey. LOL.
All the stuff I ordered is still at the shop. (Coyote Point Armory in Burlingame). Big props to them and Scott for staying after closing hours and helping me out.
I still have to order a Pelican Case, too. I need like...a real job or something hahaha. Too broke to be spending 4 thousand on a build I'll only shoot like once or twice a month.U.S. Army 11B

Look at the JPrifles.com Bennie Cooley large chamber brake. That is probably the most effective brake (sexy to boot) that I've used to date. The brake debate is probably a personal one, but that is MY personal favorite.Comment

Brossiah, here is a good read on brakes: http://precisionrifleblog.com/?s=Brake
Cal writes an awesome blog. Take a look if you're serious about equipment choice. Take a look into your local competitions as well, you will learn tons.

Return all that if you can.
The bushnell 3.5-21 is a better scope for similar money.
Then get a tps 20moa steel base and steel rings.Randall Rausch

+1
Also OP, regarding your earlier desire for a Defiance action... I have 5 Deviants, Trued 700s and had a couple of off the shelf 700s... Truth be told, the actions make the smallest of differences if that. (Assuming you didn't get a completely crocked one).
At this point, I focus on fundamentals of using your bipod, trigger and scope while staying square behind the gun. That will be your biggest bang for the buck other than keeping your eyes open as to how much faith you place into that particular shop, any shop for that matter.
The Medcafe range I think your referring to or even for Chabot, isn't worth waiting for when there are lots of areas maybe 1-1/2 hours further than your commute from DC to almost Morgan Hill or Chabot, that you can shoot daily longer. Your only limited by your imagination, there are a lot of long range opportunities within a comfortable driving distance

I have a g2dmr 3.5-21 on my dmr rifle.
As much as I love it, I'm not too fond of the finicky eye relief. The mk4 feels a little better for relief for me.U.S. Army 11B

You are probably talking about the eyebox, not the eye relief.
Tryout a Schmidt & Bender or a USO scope then.
Those have a better eyebox than the Japanese glass scopes.Randall Rausch

That's a beauty, but I would still change the mount out to ARC M10 rings.
