Once Hillary gets the nomination, there will be a panic. all OP needs to do is call it a high powered sniper rifle and it will sell for top dollar. Remember during the ammo panic ALL ammo was bought up. Even the cowboy stuff that don't getc used in tactical assault guns was snapped up. If Hillary gets anywhere near the white house, she will take 0bama's gun salesman of the decade award real quick. It does not matter if they push bolt guns, gun people are quick to panic, so the only thing needed to start a buying frenzy is the perception that they might make a push.

You'd probably get more separating the scope from the rifle if you were selling instead of trading.

You'd probably get $250 for the scope and $1100-1200 for the rifle without the scope.

Where I live people usually get the most money by selling the rifle and scope separately. I've also never seen anyone come close to recouping the cost for custom parts and gunsmithing.

Bolt actions will always be around. Although, Hilliary may make them more popular.

Audi transmissions are excessively expensive. When my youngest boy's Audi tranny went out the dealer wanted $7,000 to replace it (A7). He no longer drives Audi's.

I'm in a similar situation with a Hart-barreled, custom-stocked 700. I'll never get back what I have into it. So, it sets in the safe. Your rifle is worth what Randall said - but someone has to be willing to buy it. It all depends on what you are willing to let it go for. You may do better in trade (for labor) than in the retail market.
