According to the local FFL that I use in Orange County, it is true. They should be annoucing it, sometime soon. They already have a kit and knowing them, they probably already have a pantent on the kit and will have a unlimited supply of kits.
The MC Operator is a nice pick up OP.Last edited by Sigbird; 01-26-2015, 6:49 PM.Comment

I’m not really a fan of the new front strap (prefer checkering personally), but i’ll have to hold out until I feel one.

That would be news to me, but one can hope

They can come up with as many breaktop or bolt action kits as they want but that won't do any of us any good. SSE2 will require the manufactures to at the very least provide virgin (never assembled) frames to participating 07 FFL's in CA so they can build and sell exempt SSE2 1911's (or other off roster handguns). We then need a way to have those SSE2 1911's (or other off roster handguns) converted to semi-auto 1911's. And unlike the simple SSE1 barrel insert and zero round sled swap, we are now talking about complete fitment of semi-auto slides and other major parts from major manufacturers that are not going to get involved in this type of business.
I'll tell you right now, it ain't happening. I'm sure some no name manufacturer will pop up and offer frames or even complete SSE2 1911's for custom ground up builds but they won't be the name brand Springfield, Dan Wesson, Les Baer, etc, etc... 1911's that we would all want to buy.
SSE2 will be primarily for AR pistols and specialty pistols that lend themselves to being manufactured as exempt and easily transformed to semi-auto.Comment

I too like those grips. This thing is a dream to shoot. Sold off my Sig Tacops 1911 to get this one, and it was worth the $300 price difference.Nice choice. I personally don't like the new MC Operator and prefer the old version. The front-strap and MSH chainlink-like treatment looks like something that you would either love or hate. You can't go wrong with the original smooth front-strap as it keeps all the options open to you if you decide you want something done to it later.
Am I the only one here who actually likes the Pachmayr wraparounds?Comment

LOL, I never realized that "MC" stood for Marine Corp!
I have a non-rail TRP, the grips and front strap are like cheese graters!
I bought it used from a fellow Calgunner ... $1000, and he threw in 250 rounds of ammo too.
My friend has the MC Operator and likes it just fine. Honestly, either gun is better than I can shoot. Heck, even my RIA is pretty darn good! The TRP is TIGHT though. As in ... hard to move the slide by hand. It hasn't got thousands of rounds through it yet though.==================

Remember to dial 1 before 911.
Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

Like new can be whatever it means. Someone can pass pff a 1k gun as a like new.
dealer cost on an mc operator is around 1050 to 1100 so go from there in regards on the deals. Sometimes something is amissLast edited by static2126; 01-29-2015, 11:22 AM.Comment
