getting a 1911 MC Operator.

after weeks of debating, i finally decided to get a MC operator 1911. happy but disappointed at the same time. really wanted the "new" mc operator with the front strap checkering and the other upgrades. too bad its not on the roster. needless to say this will be my 7th 1911. i have other springers like the trophy match and the GI versions. got it for 1249 minus dros. not a bad price considering ive seen used ones go for more on the marketplace.

Congratulations! Maybe the "New" MC Operator will be available in WTS for PPT. Have you considered an TRP if you like the front strap checkering and sights?

i did but im happy with getting the mc operator. i just liked the front strap texturing on the new operator and how it wasnt checkering.

Nice choice. I personally don't like the new MC Operator and prefer the old version. The front-strap and MSH chainlink-like treatment looks like something that you would either love or hate. You can't go wrong with the original smooth front-strap as it keeps all the options open to you if you decide you want something done to it later.

Am I the only one here who actually likes the Pachmayr wraparounds?

That is a great price. The TRP is excellent as well. Getting my 2nd TRP this week

pachmyrs are cool. i dont mind them at all. i think eventually i will get the front strap checkered and get the armory kote on the entire gun. for now it will do. as long as it goes bang im a happy dude.

The MC and EMP are on my short list before they go off roster. I love Springfield's and don't think you can go wrong with any of their 1911 models. Many don't like the green frame but I like the contrast and think it would look great with some form of all black grip. Nice choice OP!

Its hardly junk. What it is, is a Loaded with a half rail. With a little work from SACS you'll have a gun that's comparable to a TRP Operator with the ability to pick and choose the mods you value most.
