Glock 42 trouble first range visit

I've done that with the G42 and my Shield as well, if I grip the way I'm used to gripping my 1911's I'll cover the slide stop every time.

Try having another experienced shooter try it out and see if they have the same problems, make sure it's lubricated correctly and try to keep your thumbs from riding the slide and/or slide stop which is easy to do with smaller guns. If it's still a problem, call Glock and get a RMA#.

Took the Glock 42 out last week and it ate everything I fed it. Went through a box of Aguila 95gr FMJ, then went through the 50 rounds I put together to dial in the load using AA #5 and 95gr FMJ. No malfunctions whatsoever.

The only thing I dislike about this gun out of the box is the slide release lever and mag release button. The 42 is so small that it gets lost in my hand when trying to release the slide or drop a mag. I replaced the controls with those from Vickers and it made a huge difference. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Update: after a few weeks of loaded mags in the safe, I took it out to the range. 50 rounds of Magtech cycled without problems. I appreciate that suggestion.

That said, it is currently on consignment at OC Armory if anyone wants a great deal on a G42!

Limp wristing doesn't necessarily mean low arm strength. It's easy to do on a low recoiling handgun, even with gorilla arms.
Sometimes you gotta death grip certain guns.

I sincerely hope someone picks it up and is able to run it correctly. Just wasn't for me. I'm going with my G26 (which I shoot very well) and two wheelsguns.

I am not big on 380s. Now the G26 I think is perfect. I got to shoot one with Winchester Ranger +P+ which would be my choice.

I will take it off your hands to save you any future headaches and give you my old Rossi m971 wheelgun :-)
