Good to know. Thanks for the info.Originally posted by HopetonBrownI'd get the Springfield. They have an excellent custom shop that will upgrade your pistol any way you want, and with any part you want (within reason, I'm sure). You can turn your SA MC Operator into a gun as nice if not nicer than any Wilson Combat or Ed Brown. Every time you get a few hundred bucks together you can send it in, and upgrade something. It's the 1 gun to have for the rest of your life. And since the work is done by SA it'll still be completely under their awesome warranty.
I sent my SA TRP in to the custom shop for upgrades; they even had all the parts already in stock! Harrison Design slide stop, Harrison Design trigger, Harrison Design rear sight, gold bead front sight. It barely cost any more to have them installed than just buying the parts from Brownells.Comment

I'd opt for the SA as well; as has been mentioned with the warranty and the custom shop. I have used the warranty before for an absolutely arbitrary issue, easy as pie and a pleasant experience.
I've also used the Custom Shop for quite a bit of work, and was blown away by the communication, quality of work, and turn around time. Deb and Mr. Williams were just great to work with.
I will say this, I have only HANDLED a DW, and will say it was nice. But I have nothing else to add beyond that.
And for what it's worth, I bought a MCO, sold it, and am in the midst of buying another because I sincerely regretted it; it is the only gun I've ever regretted selling.
Thanks

This is the exact reason that I am consolidating my collection to just Glocks and Springfield's.Originally posted by HopetonBrownI'd get the Springfield. Out the box you're getting a higher quality pistol with DW, but also comes at a premium. SA has the edge with their service and custom shop. I toss it up to do you want a rail or not, and also is this something you want to modify down the road? I give DW the nod in resale value.
I'd try to get your hands on both and make a decision.Comment
