I can compare to anything, but Underwood's own 115 gr 357-Sig is 1550. I'm not sure I believe either number, but at least they are measured by the same manufacturer. .357-Sig is higher pressure and smaller diameter, generally with a lighter bullet too, so you're not going to beat it with a .40 when comparing apples to apples.

Underwood's 357 Sig has been tested and verified at 1500 and up fps. It is as advertised. Real 357 sig ammo rather than the weak reduced loads most manufacturers sell and it recoiles the same as the weaker commercial loads from the big boys
...but their exists also in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to attempt to lower the powerful to their own level, and reduces men to prefer equality in slavery to inequality with freedom.

          The ammo I have now is Underwood's 124 grainers @ 1475 = 604 ft/lbs. I also have some Golden Sabers that are 125 grainers @ 1350 = 506 ft.lbs. I think I have some light 125 practice ammo in a can somewhere... Fiocchi maybe.

I guess if the ammo was easier to find I would have more than 200 rounds of it. Must be something to that.

I sent an e-mail so we shall see. I'm sure something could be done.

As for the cartridge itself it is a hot little sucker.

              .357sig

I am sold on the extra stopping power of this caliber. I purchased the 357 sig barrels for my 3 sigs .40's ( P239, P226 Tacops, and P229). This caliber is extremely accurate and can appreciate the extra muzzle energy.

I run .357SIG on my Glock 27. I found an empty slide that I built up to swap out the complete upper from. .40 to .357SIG.

                Runs 100%.

Yes, the ammo can be expensive. I don't reload .357SIG.

But I can run Wally World ammo for range fun and I bought a few boxes of HD ammo that I keep with the upper if needed. (Zippered bag)

Put some sights on her. Real sweet sight picture...

Real nice! I'm confused about which slide to get. Do I have to get a 357 slide or can I install the .40 slide? Other than Glock, is there a company that makes a complete upper in 357 sig? I've looked around and see lonewolf and stormlake barrels but no complete set ups (slide and barrel).

All you need is the barrel. Since .357sig is a .40 case necked down to 9mm, same extractor/ejector as .40. And it's literally just a purchase of a factory or aftermarket G32 barrel. No conversion barrel needed unlike converting to 9mm. So Glock 23 or 32 slide will do fine.

while Glock .40SW and .357SIG magazines vary slightly, they're near identical and I've never had any FTFs using .40 mags with .357SIG.

                      For a CCW...?

Skip it. The .40/180 gr/HST will do the job nicely.

                      For the Range...?

Skip it. Pricy, hard to find ammo that still just punches holes in paper.

                      Now, for the Field...?

                      LWD-32357XL 5.3" 357SIG Bbl. for your G23, and:

                      SB357SIG/140 GR/FMJ-FP

                      Hornady 357SIG/147 gr./XTP JHP

The XTP runs ~ 1325 fps/575 lb-ft at the muzzle, or std. performance out at 75-100 yards.

                      Controllable, accurate, compact .357 auto.

                        ^^^^
Nice Setup Yeah, for the field, 18 rounds of 124 grain @ 1475 FPS is pretty decent.

Anyone have any experience with this company? I'm thinking of finding a used g23 slide and buying a new 357 sig barrel.

If you don't need the .40 barrel you can do it for $119...

Looks like a daily deal so you better do it ASAP. Auction prices are usually for new take-offs and they do not go that low at all. I do see the NIBX coated used stuff on Auction once in a while.
