actually joined CGN while seeking reloading data on .357SIG shortly after ordering a Lone Wolf G31 barrel for my G22 last year.

Originally just thought of it as a low risk new range toy ($100 barrel), to try something new.

A year later, let's just say that old G22 rarely sees any .40 anymore.
    Also my HD handgun.

Ammo cost/LGS availability may be a negative factor if you don't reload, otherwise it doesn't cost me anymore to load than 9 or .40. For range use I just load fmj 9mm para bullets, cheaper than .357SIG specific, and essentially the same (both .355 cal, and 124gr vs 125gr).

Ordered 1000 case bag of once-fired brass from this site:
    华体会在线官网-华体会(中国)是一家集研发、生产、销售于一体的大型精细化学品制造企业、石家庄市工业五十强企业、河北省百强企业、中国化工500强企业。

Took about 5 days to ship, all cases were head-stamped Speer (description on the page said "mixed"), and all literally appeared to be once fired. I assume harvested from a LE range.

typical cheap factory target loads (WWB, American Eagle, etc) are downloaded.. 125 grainers at 1325-1350fps or so.... feels like .40. originally developed load was 125gr at 1450 (583.5 ft/lbs ME), that has some snap, but it's really not bad. Getting used to the muzzle flash and increased db will be more challenging (assuming you're used to .40). All things considered the typical "it's basically just 9mm+P" argument is nonsense. More like 9mm+P++ if it existed.

I've shot around 3,500-4000 rounds of .357 though that G22 now. Not a single FTF/FTE.

per jumbopanda's comment, I bought a G27 a few months ago, also added a .357 barrel for it, yeah that someb*tch is loud.

I have a Glock 22 with a barsto 357 sig barrel. I can say Glock and tack driver in the same sentence. The original .40 was mediocre. Compare ammo prices for yourself. Easy to obtain online and no more expensive than comparable 45 or 10mm for that matter. I know, I actually buy the stuff.

I've got a sp2022 in 40s&w and I've been mulling over the idea of picking up the 357 sig barrel.

I own a Glock 31 in 357 sig and I love that gun. Ammo can be bought at walmart. I use this for my HD.

I'm waiting on a conversion .357sig barrel for my G27. Can't wait to throw some downrange.

              This^^^^lots of fun...

I run .357SIG on my Glock 27. I found an empty slide that I built up to swap out the complete upper from. .40 to .357SIG.

              Runs 100%.

Yes, the ammo can be expensive. I don't reload .357SIG.

But I can run Wally World ammo for range fun and I bought a few boxes of HD ammo that I keep with the upper if needed. (Zippered bag)

Put some sights on her. Real sweet sight picture...

I'm looking for some pros/cons of 357 sig. It would be a range and ccw gun.

                Thanks

                Pros
                It launches a 124/125 pill faster than a 9x19.
                4" barrel 357 Magnum performance.
Used 1x fired brass is cheap and plentiful (or it was when the ammo was scarce 2 years ago) because very few people reload 357SIG.
                Flatter trajectory.

                Cons
                Costs 2x more than 40S&W and 9mm.
Less rounds in a high cap magazine tahn 9x19 (doesn't matter in California with 10 round limit).
Very limited hollowpoint defense bullets available for reloading (unless you buy 357 magnum bullets and resize to 9mm).
Higher max pressure (40,000 psi) than 40S&W for the same case diameter. Ironically I have never heard of a Glock 357SIG Kaboom.
The guy/gal two or three stations to your right at the range will get pissed off at you for hitting him/her in the head with brass.

If you want something like a 357SIG, get a Glock 20 and buy a 357SIG barrel, or better yet get a 9x25 Dillion barrel, and you will have a 357SIG on steroids.

I thought about getting a Glock in 357SIG, but decided just to get the 9mm. I didn't feel that the 357SIG offered significantly more performance from a short barrel (G26/27/33) than a 9mm.

I have a G32 that has been at Glock for 2 months now for failure to feed. The California 10 rounders seem to be at fault.

I carry a Glock 33 with a spare mag in the summertime. Its a close range gun that hits hard and penetrates barriers. I like the 357 SIG power, but you must concentrate on the findamentals to shoot it well.

Is there a source for 10/13 mags?

My next step is to see if Jestice arms can make me some.

You can get hotter/faster ammo in .40 compared to .357. Kinda defeats the purpose for me.

Its a neat round, but doesnt seem to stack up to .40.

Show me a .40 commercial round that is faster than any .357-SIG commercial round. Typical differences are hundreds of fps.

Underwoods 135gr.40 cooks it at 1442. Compared to hornady at 1250 for 135gr. It is in the hundreds, but backwards favoring .40.

People have been discrediting .40 lately, but its really waay hotter than people think. You have to exceed 600 ft lb to stack up. 357 comes close.
