    Damn Glocks!

Every time I picked up a Glock it always felt odd in my hand. So, the past couple of years I bought a XD45, M&P 9 and a XDs 45 because they all felt great. Yesterday, my wife and I went to the range with a friend and he brought his G19 and G42. 1st shot with both guns were bulls eyes. Dammit! I waited too long to get a G42! I shoot my XD fairly well, but not my M&P.

Anyone looking for a well cared for seldom shot M&P 9?

To the OP - Sounds like you're a little bit of a new shooter. I find that for a lot of people, first shots out of ANY gun are bullseyes. Why? They don't know what to expect; or it's been too long since they went shooting last. As a result, they don't flinch, or trigger jerk, or close their eyes, or... etc for the first shot. What were the successive shots like? Were they in the black? On the paper? Where did they land on the paper?

I wouldn't judge a gun based on 1 shot, but rather, over the entire shooting session, how did you do? Was the gun consistently placing shots where you wanted the shots to go?

      That said.... Get a Glock!!

Look for the new 9mm GLOCK mouser at SHOT '15 in January.

I went through a pistol rotisserie that started with m&p's (which I think are great pistols,) and ended with ppq's and glocks. I think if I'd bought a G19 right off the bat I'd have never bought the m&p's or ppq's (great pistols!,)... Glock is so easy to work on and shoot (for me.)

i'm by no means anti-Glock; i own several. rent a Glock at your local range and spend some time shooting it. then, please get back with us. i'd love to see an update.

The first Glock I shot was a Glock 34 rental, and I wanted one after a few hundred rounds. It was a nice shooter.

The G23 is the most perfect gun.

My brother has been after me to get one for years.

I have to agree that the palm swell in the grip and the grip size in general is really perfect for me.

I've had Colt Officers, have G36 and now G41 and none fit anywhere near as nice as the G23.

I almost got a G35 w/ the idea of cutting the grip down for G23 mags, but the grip shape of the larger frame doesn't have the palm swell where it needs to be.

Buy what you shoot the best, not what feels the best.

Glocks are ugly and feel like you're holding a 2x4, but if that's what you shoot the best with, buy it. Because that's all that really matters - hitting what you aim at.

Not a new shooter, but I don't shoot often enough to be good...
The Glock grouped very nicely for me and it just, for whatever reason, shot better than my M&P. I think I will end up getting one in the spring.
