This is a common issue with the p938. Nothing to worry about IMO.

I've noticed that when a loaded mag is dropped, the top round has "advanced" forward a bit - the rear of the case isn't up against the mag. It's as if you pushed the rear of the case forward a quarter-case length or so.

It sounds like in some guns, this is going a bit further. Probably dropping the mag completely strips the top round out of the mag. If there's actually a loose round bouncing around in there (and I don't think there's enough room to bounce around) that would be . . . bad.

tried this with both of my p938's, and with both snap caps and live rounds. the snap caps didnt move at all. the live rounds move forward 1/8th of an inch on both pistols, with all of my magazines. nothing out of the ordinary. however, your video sure doensn't seem right, even if cycling isn't affected. i'd give sig a call.

If you can shoot 8" with the 938 at 25 yards the cash would be a cheap lesson. I could use the help.

I do think the 938 is a very nice gun, if only the trigger in both of mine was a crisp 5.2 pounds. The only gun I have shot close to it is the emp, but its really almost 25% larger and twice as heavy.

Congrats on your purchase. It was a wise one.
I shot mine yesterday and got, I would guess 5" groupings at 15 yards. I probably could not get 8" groupings at 25 though. Although, I am sure I can with my P229....all of this is 2 handed.

I went to On Target to do a reality check this morning.

5" group at 17 yards two handed with 7 shots, although in two distinct groupings. One handed at 25 yards.....hit the target twice with one hand. It's a 10x10 NRA 25 yard slow fire pistol target. Forgetaboutit!!

                Pics to follow.

Offer still stands. I think we all want to see how to shoot this gun so well.

Just pokin' my head in to toss a lil gasoline on the fire...

But seriously, I have a P938 SAS in jail and can't wait to get her to the range to see what she can do...

Mine also does something kinda weird when loading up for a plus one in the mag, when I pull the mag to load the extra round the round on top falls out of the mag well. So one in the chamber, 4 or 5 in the mag and a loose round out of the mag well. Try it
That used to happen to me all the time... But not anymore - either the springs in my mags are looser now or I've (subconsciously) developed a method of removing mag without top round coming out... I think you'll find over time it becomes less of an issue.

You are right though, it is a weird quirky thing... I've never had another gun do that.

I can get 3" groups one handed (weak hand) shooting cross-eye dominant at 50 yards... Sometimes even while texting with my right hand - or eating a cheeseburger.

lets meet up for a p938 shoot in january! i dont know about a monetary exchange, but i 'd be down just to see what the p938 can do at 25yds. last time i shot it, at 25 yards, im pretty sure i kept all of the rounds inside an 8" shoot n' see target, although this means the holes were inside of the entire square sticker. i cant recall if any of the rounds went outside of the 8" circle. i cant remember. either way, i'd love to shoot this thing with some calgunners!

I'd like to see this done too. 3" at 10 yards is way better than an NRA certified instructor I met a few weeks back was shooting at 7 yards...

The p938 isn't even meant for distances we are talking about here. If I have to hit a target at 25 yards I hope I'm not using my p938!

Just like a GLOCK... sort of.

                                1. Empty/safety the pistol.
                                2. Lock back the slide.
                                3. Drop a round into the chamber.
                                4. Ride the slide (slowly) closed 'till it rests on the case.
                                5. Roll the pistol port up.
                                6. Press the very back end of the extractor. (GLOCK's you pull the claw)
                                7. The extractor claw will hop the case and the slide will go into battery.
                                8. Insert full mag.

                                - Plus One condition.
                                - No deformation/set-back of round.
                                - Unlimited re-chambering of round.
