Took the new P938 Nightmare to the range Sat.
-50/box Federal AE 147 gr. FP
-Two mags ea. 147 gr. HST and 147 gr. XTP.
Flawless... almost.
The pistol shot Great. Very easy to operate. Natural aim point. Low recoil/flip w/ a Two-finger/one handed grip. Cycled everything.
Accurate? 1-1/2" groups at 5 yards, 3" at 10 yards, and ~ 8" at 25 yards... One-handed.
Expect to get that down to 1"/2"/5" respectively after I get used to the trigger.
The Trigger? Heavy, maybe 6-8 lbs., w/ almost no discernible creep, and an icicle break.
Grips? Great. The checkered G-10 was very positive w/o the excess of my range buddy's Extreme "snake scale" G-10's. Exactly what I wanted.
Didn't see the brass, which is good, b/c it was not in my face. I would guess high 4 o'clock.
And, something that I also Really like? You can hand-load the chamber... easy. Just drop in a round, ride the slide down, and then press on the back end of the extractor lever, like a teeter-tooter... hops right over the base into battery.
So what is the "... almost"?
I had one round on one of the HST mags go... missing. Best I can recollect, I loaded the full mag from an open slide, and overhand charged it. Fired Five rounds to a locked back slide and empty mag.
Though that I had loaded the mag w/ a full Six.
Range buddy found an HST round on the floor back behind me, w/ a ding in it up near the case mouth. A rare round to just find on the floor, so I assume that is the mystery round. I have no idea how it got there.
I hand-loaded it and sent it on its way.
So, ...this is one awesome little rig that really does some nice work w/ the 147 gr. ammo.
Will investigate the mystery round the next trip out.
