Yes. It goes down like this:

She sent an off roster Gen 4 Glock from her FFL in Oklahoma (shipping thru FFLs are $25 bucks because they can use the USPO and we can't)

Shipped directly to my FFL in Orange County. Inside the gun box with the Glock was a 'gift letter' with a copy of her Oklahoma Drivers License. She's married and her last name is different than mine.

    The letter said:

" I want my father, Oceanbob to have this Glock 21, serial number xxxxx as a gift"

    Signed: Jackie xxxx
    Date: xxxxx

My FFL starts the DROS and on the form he clicks inter family gift X exempt from the roster.

10 day wait and done deal..

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

Not cousins, no sisters and brothers or uncles ....

Only vertical, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, sons, daughters, up and down only.

The FFL keeps the gift letter in his file for his records. It's not required.
The DROS FORM DOESNT ASK FOR ANY NAMES. Just an X on family gift, Exempt from the roster.

How many times can you do that in a year?

Interfamilia transfer of firearms only works up/down... Father/Mother to Son/Daughter... Grandfather/Grandmother to Grandson/Grandaughter and vise versa... Son to Father etc.

No sideways, brother/sister to brother/sister or cousins...

OceanBob pretty much covered process for a interstate Interfamilia transfer. The one caveat is that the receiver of the transfer must not be a prohibited person...

You can SSE revolvers, it's how we do snub nose ones, but it requires a custom kit and not a drop in that most dealers are use to.

I don't think we have any using the kit at the moment. If you want to have the ffl overnight us the revolver we'll convert it and overnight it back.

I do need the kit on 30th though.

That would totally work, but the next time I can DROS is on the 29th. Dang my luck! LOL.

855.365.3767-ffl help line. They're only supposed to speak to a ffl. Sometimes cool operators will speak to you. Ask shop owner to call.

You need to find another local FFL with the knowledge to do this. !

Hold off sending the Ruger home, research this few days......

Do we know if the option to SSE revolvers also expires this year? It seems only break top or bolt action are eligible for SSE next year...
