      I think after a month, everyone was wondering what the OP got. Lots of Calgunners have lots of guns. But I was guessing the OP has a budget of ONE handgun that has to serve as a CCW/range gun. My choice in a situation like that would be a 1911 or a Browning High Power.

        another vote for H&K P2000sk or if you want a little bigger the P2000
        VERY reliable, you will love shooting it, even long session at the range and you can run it and run it and its almost impossible to break. Available as SA/DA or DA only. Available in 40 or 9mm. I have the P2000sk 40, and while I can shoot my full size a bit more accurately, I'm still plenty right on target with it.
