A Lt where I work wanted a clean smooth trigger on his G23 Gen4 and it actually had a very smooth trigger already out of the box. But a G17 Gen4 I recently worked on for range use only was rough. So they are not all the same due to tolerances in parts and some being rough.

I can get a Glock trigger below 2# but it will require several after market parts. First shot is a long light crisp pull, afterwards it's about the same or better if set screws are installed. It's not a custom 1911 trigger but it sure is as light and crisp as one. Take it from a 1911 fan boy.

      Exactly my point.

Almost all 1911 triggers, even some custom ones, are simply not that good out of the box. So it is hard to guage what a "1911 trigger" feels like. Take a Stock low end Colt or Springfield 1911 trigger, for example. I have measured those to be almost 8 lbs with tons of creep and grit. There is not much to write home to about them.

I have 1911's that are a touch above 2 lb trigger pulls that are short and crisp but they have a slight wall before they break. I highly doubt any Glock, CZ, HK, or Sig will ever feel like them.

Do you alter the angle of the trigger bar that the striker rides on at all?

I don't regret burning some bridges. I regret that some people weren't on those bridges when I burnt them!

I just picked one up at riflegear.

I tried the trigger expecting something horrendous after all the gen 4 trigger comments, but was pleasantly surprised. No better or worse than my Gen 3s were out of the box.

Like I said, I probably got a Massachussets model. It feels like the New York trigger with molasses poured in it.

I will probably buy some new stones and work on it when I get the chance.

Check yours to see if you have the plastic piece in the rear instead of the trigger helper spring. If so, it's the NY version.

I tried one once, it's awful. It does feel like dragging a sandbag over gravel. And you can't really polish the plastic piece

Good news is if that's the case, it takes 10 seconds to swap in a normal trigger spring.
