You did. It's not listed as GP100. It's listed by it's SKU GP-141 or GP-161.

A used model 19, 27 or 28 is a great choice, but good luck finding one. Off roster and they get top dollar here. More than the Ruger new. Earlier pinned and recessed variants have become highly coveted collectibles.

The GP-100 really belongs on your list of poll options. For the money, it cannot be beat.

My vote is Ruger GP-100 Match Champion. It is on roster now. Will be my first handgun purchase in 2015.

Comes from the factory with a tuned action, Hogue stippled wood grip, Novak lo-mount carry rear sight, contoured cylinder for easy holstering, target crowned barrel, fiber front sight, half lug & slab side bbl.

I will be investigating the rugers too. Does it come in blue. That is one of my preferences over stainless.

I have a 4" 66 first gen (a model 19 in SS, with SS sights, pinned barrel, etc. I bought new) and a 27 in 8-3/8" blued. Love them both so I vote for the 27 of your choices but 4'', not 6"

I just wish I could get my hands on a Model 327. I'd jump on that.

S&W model 19 is supposed to be the all around best 357 revolver they made. I read that somewhere anyways. It is more expensive then the model 27 though. I do like the old 586's also though. Are you getting a new revolver or an older one?

I may be wrong, but the 19 is typically less than a 27.

I just recently picked up a 19 6" off of gunbroker, for just around $500.
It has round butt, but I got a set of some new grips off ebay (the guy from Thailand) and it's one sexy looking beast and shoots like a dream (the grips fit my hand very well).

As for roster, not sure. I am in NC, so no roster or 10 day wait any more. It got shipped to my FFL, 15 minutes of paperwork and on my way home.

The classic Smiths are hard to beat. IMO.

Gunbroker or any out of state seller is not an option for the *cough* great state of California.

As a revolver enthusiast, this is where the roster hurts the most. Private party transfer is my only option to acquire a 40 year old classic Smith. Or converting to single action (which are roster exempt), which seems like a pain.

I understand the transfer process to be: If an out of state pre-owned firearm is not on the roster, it can be purchased and transferred to a local (CA) FFL holder for the 10 day wait and forgo the SSE debacle.

I'd like to get another PPK/s and a S&W m327 but...

Where am I wrong? I'm sure this is too simple so I have to have missed something, some hitch.

Sorry, but you cannot just buy off roster pistols from out of state and send them through an FFL here, it doesn't matter if they are used or new, it doesn't matter if being sold by a private party or not. Unless it is older than 50 years (C&R), or you are having it modified to be SSE (before 1/1/15) or SAE (single action only revolver with 3"+ bbl and 7.5"+ OAL), or you are exempt (Law Enforcement), it cannot be done. If you are not exempt (LE) your only option is to buy off roster pistols via private party transaction from a CA resident, or modify it to be SSE or SAE. Or you could inherit them, or be given them by blood related Parent/Grandparent/Child or spouse who lives out of state.
